Ensuring a Safe, Healthy and Enjoyable cruise

As the world of travel begins to resume, the cruise industry is making plans and are working with federal governments and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) on rigorous new safety and sanitation protocols to protect passengers and crew when they can resume sailing.

Cruise lines have extensive experience providing for a clean and sanitised environment aboard cruise ships and has the ability to adapt to current situations.

These new procedures will include:

Mandatory health questionnaires and contactless temperature checks for a comprehensive health screening before embarkation.

Newly designed processes for embarkation with assigned arrival times at the port to facilitate responsible social distancing and enhanced sanitation measures that follow the same high standards onboard.

Cruise ships are likely to sail with a reduced passenger numbers to better maintain social distancing throughout the ship while passengers and crew are on onboard.

New sanitation methods with frequent and more in-depth disinfecting in all public areas, with hand sanitising stations more prominent throughout the ship and enhanced cleaning in cabins and staterooms.

Improved medical services with highly qualified staff, with ongoing health monitoring for all guests, plus, expansion of medical teams and enhanced onboard medical centres, with heightened equipment.

Passengers must continue to use hand-washing stations or hand sanitisers as they enter restaurants onboard. It's possible they'll only be able to dine with their travelling companions at assigned tables with assigned servers and service will be adapted to respect social distancing. Self-service buffets will be suspended, or servers will transfer food from behind barriers to passengers’ plates.Self-service coffee and snack bars may be removed.

Shore excursions will be tailored to protocols at each port and will follow the same high standards of health and safety as on board.

Cruise lines are continuously assessing relevant developments will adapt the Health& Safety measures as needed to ensure that customers and crew can sail in a safe and healthy environment, whilst still experiencing the very best the cruise lines have to offer.
