Czech Republic

As one of the few land-locked nations in central Europe, Czech Republic offers a range of historical cities filled with architecture and an array of charming small towns. One of the first destinations that springs to mind is the Czech capital of Prague – a magical city that has stayed true to its historical heritage. Old-time features including bridges, cathedrals, churches castles and an intriguing astronomical clock have all been painstakingly maintained while also being surrounded by modern features including an array of museums and many modern works of art.

However, there is plenty more to see outside of the capital city with opportunities to visit an array of charming settlements. A journey to West Bohemia offers the chance to explore the city of Pilsen, which is home to towering landmarks above the ground including the 13th century St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral and a fascinating historical network of underground cellars. You can also experience traditional Pilsner beer at the Pilsner Urquell Brewery.

One of the most beautiful towns in all of Czech Republic is Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage town that is best experienced via a Vitava river cruise. Located in Southern Bohemia, visitors to this seemingly enclosed settlement are treated to an array of landmarks including a 13th-century castle, a six-storey Chateau Tower and a number of beautiful gardens. TravelQuest can offer a range of insightful tours to Czech Republic, as well as to the neighbouring landlocked nations of Austria and Hungary.
