Two things come to mind when you hear the word Amazon; river and rainforest. You will get the opportunity to explore both of these as part of our carefully planned tours that allow you to get up close and personal with the wildlife and people that live in this remote region. The world’s largest rainforest and largest river by volume of water offer wild landscapes that few will ever get to discover. You will venture into the wilderness aboard a boutique river ship (or small ocean-going vessel) in order to see things from a viewpoint unlike any other.
Among the list of things you’ll get to experience is wildlife spotting both at night and during the day. This habitat is home to more than a third of the planet’s flora and fauna, with more being discovered all the time, so there is plenty to see. Experienced, English-speaking guides will take you on the hunt for monkeys, exotic birds and even jaguars.
Other activities include fishing for piranhas, taking the plunge to meet the elusive Amazon pink river dolphin and exploring the myriad of waterways via the use of your own canoe. Along the river bank, there are various communities with which you will also get to interact, enabling you to learn about what life is like in one of the most isolated places on earth.
