When did you start working in the travel industry?

I am a newbie to the world of travel and only started with Fred. Olsen in January 2024. I have tried a fair few careers in my working years, from being a teaching assistant to a bus driver! As much as these were interesting and enjoyable I didn't feel like they fully fulfilled me. I do truly feel that I have found my calling, I am excited to see what the future holds working within the travel industry.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

For me it is all about the customers. I get enjoyment out of helping our customers to find their dream holiday and to make them a reality, whether it maybe for a safari, a cruise, a city break or just a much needed beach holiday away from daily life and the British weather.

Where would you like to visit next?

I would really like to go to New York in the 'fall' as the Americans would say. I have been once before, this was on a college trip. Even though I did get to see and explore the 'Big Apple' I feel that there was so much more that I didn't get the opportunity to do. I'd love to do a helicopter ride, to see the city from above would be an experience/memory that would last a lifetime.

What is your dream holiday destination?

My dream destination would be New Zealand. I am a MASSIVE fan of 'The Hobbit'. Hobbiton is at the top of my bucket list of places to visit there. My dream would be to hire a camper van and explore the beautiful scenery that New Zealand has to offer. I would also like to go on the iconic Gondola in Queenstown, to take in the spectacular panoramic views down below and of the surrounding mountains.

What has been your favourite holiday, which you have booked for a customer, that you would love to take yourself?

The Fred. Olsen Mystery Cruise! I absolutely love the fact that there is only a select few people in the world that know the Itinerary. Who doesn't like the element of surprise?! I know I do, I would find it very exciting.

What were your childhood holidays like?

My Grandparents had a house in Montpellier in Southern France. We did a few road trips to visit them in the summer holidays. They would take us to towns and beaches where only the locals would go to. There was always freshly baked croissants from the bakery on offer for breakfast. One of my favourite things we used to do was to play bowls in the streets of Sete. Another found memory was going to the old town of Montpelier and putting my feet in the fountain, and visiting the chocolate shop.

What are the first three things in your case?

1) Travel adaptors - more than needed, someone always forgets theirs.

2) Insect repellent spray and wipes.

3) Yorkshire Tea bags! Can't beat a nice brew when on holiday.

's Top Tips

1) Research where you are staying and what things you would like to do and see before you go, so no time is wasted doing this once you are there.

2) Roll your clothes up in your suitcase, don't fold them as you definitely get more in this way.

3) Take comfy footwear, you don't want blisters, they'll ruin your holiday.

's Cruise Tips

1) Book your excursions early to avoid disappointment, popular ones get booked up quickly.

2) Check to see if you need to take travel adaptors, some cruise lines only have 2-pin plug sockets. Don't get caught out.

3) Go on the ship tour on embarkation to help you familiarize yourself with finding where the important places are like the buffet restaurant.

My Favourite Memory

I would have to say...... Gran Canaria, it's my 'happy place'. I have been going once a year for the past 7 years except 2020! I stay in Puerto Rico, I love the familiarity, it becomes a home from a home for my week away and It always greats me sun worshiping weather. It is lovely to go back and see the same faces in the resort and in the local restaurants. They have an amazing clothes shop called 'Lefties'. And lastly I love their Honey Rum, I never return without a bottle.
